Artist's Description
This drawing represents a quantum seashell or nautilus, which is a commonly occurring fractal in the universe. Fractals are intricate geometric patterns that exhibit self-similarity at various scales. The formation of this seashell is deeply intertwined with and derived from the Fibonacci sequence, a series of numbers in which each number is the sum of the two preceding ones (e.g., 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, and so on).
The structure of the seashell arises from the vibrations and rotational motions of objects in the universe. Just as we revolve around the sun and gradually move closer to it, every object follows its own unique path through points in spacetime. These paths often exhibit a spiraling motion or are influenced by derivatives of the Fibonacci sequence. This natural occurrence reveals the inherent beauty of numbers in motion.
While the concept behind this phenomenon may seem elegantly simple, the complexity of the resulting patterns becomes infinitely intricat...
About Jason Padgett

Jason D. Padgett is an artist and thinker whose journey challenges conventional perception. As the author of Struck by Genius, a book that has been optioned for a major motion picture, his unique artistic perspective has captivated audiences worldwide. What makes Jason’s work even more extraordinary is his experience with motion blindness (akinetopsia), a condition that causes him to perceive the world in discrete frames, like stop-motion animation or a flipbook. Rather than seeing continuous motion, he perceives reality as a series of still images. While many might see this as a limitation, Jason has embraced it as a gift, using it to explore intricate patterns and structures that often go unnoticed. His hand-drawn works reflect a...
